Terms & Conditions

Booking & Payment

  • Full payment and a completed booking form are required to confirm all services, including 1-2-1 sessions, classes, workshops and events.
  • Payment of any invoice constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
  • Some events may require a non-refundable deposit. Where applicable, payment deadlines will be stated at the time of booking.
  • Any place not fully paid for by the stated payment deadline may be offered to another client without notice.

Cancellations & Refunds

1-2-1 Training Sessions

  • If you need to reschedule a session, please provide a minimum of 48 hours' notice.
  • Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice may be forfeited and are non-refundable.
  • Refunds may be considered in exceptional circumstances at the sole discretion of Holton's Hounds.
  • Any approved refund will be subject to a £5 administration fee.
  • Cancellation requests must be made via email to hello@holtonshounds.co.uk.

Training Packages

  • Training packages must be used within the agreed timeframe unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Missed sessions count as used if cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice.
  • Unused sessions are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Group Classes, Workshops & Events

  • Places are non-refundable once booked.
  • Places cannot be transferred to another class, course or date.
  • You may transfer your place to another suitable participant with prior written approval from Holton's Hounds.
  • The replacement participant must complete all required paperwork before attending.
  • No refunds will be given for non-attendance, including holidays, work commitments, illness (human or canine), or changes in personal circumstances.

Cancellations by Holton's Hounds

  • If Holton's Hounds cancels a session, class or event, an alternative date will be offered wherever possible.
  • If a suitable alternative cannot be arranged, a full refund for the cancelled session(s) will be provided.
  • Holton's Hounds reserves the right to postpone, relocate or cancel sessions due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including adverse weather, venue issues, trainer illness or other unforeseen events.
  • Where possible, postponed sessions will be rescheduled. Refunds will not normally be offered for events affected by circumstances outside our control.

Dog & Handler Responsibilities

  • Dogs must remain on lead unless otherwise instructed by the trainer.
  • Owners must disclose any known behavioural concerns, including aggression, bite history, severe reactivity, or other issues that may affect safety, prior to booking.
  • Holton's Hounds reserves the right to refuse attendance or remove any dog or handler whose behaviour presents a risk to people or animals. No refund will be given in these circumstances.
  • Dogs must be kept at an appropriate distance from other dogs unless instructed otherwise.
  • All dogs attending must:

                   o Be fully vaccinated or have appropriate titre testing.

                   o Be regularly treated for fleas and worms, or have evidence of satisfactory faecal egg count testing.

                   o Be in good health and free from any infectious illness or condition that could affect people or animals.

  • Bitches in season must not attend group sessions. Please contact us to discuss alternative
  • arrangements.

Handlers & Spectators

  • Handlers under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • Spectators may only attend with prior permission from Holton's Hounds.
  • A spectator fee may apply where appropriate.

Emergency Contact Information

  • Emergency contact details must be provided when booking any service.
  • Clients who fail to provide this information may not be permitted to attend, and any fees paid may be forfeited.
  • In the event of an emergency, and where neither the client nor their emergency contact can be reached, Holton's Hounds reserves the right to seek appropriate veterinary or medical assistance as deemed necessary.

Veterinary Treatment & Costs

  • Any veterinary treatment required for a dog's welfare during a session will be sought at the owner's expense where the owner cannot be contacted.
  • Holton's Hounds accepts no responsibility for veterinary costs except where required by law.

Training Methods & Equipment

  • Holton's Hounds is committed to force-free, reward-based training methods that prioritise the welfare and emotional wellbeing of dogs.
  • Clients agree not to use aversive training methods during any Holton's Hounds service.
  • Dogs attending sessions must not wear or use aversive equipment, including but not limited to:

                   o Prong collars.

                   o Choke chains/check chains.

                   o Electronic collars (e-collars), including remote training collars and anti-bark collars.

                   o Slip leads used in a manner intended to apply corrections.

                   o Any other equipment designed to cause discomfort, pain, intimidation or fear.

  • Holton's Hounds reserves the right to refuse attendance or terminate a session immediately if aversive equipment is brought to or used during training.
  • No refund will be given where attendance is refused or a session is terminated due to the use of prohibited equipment or training methods.

Liability

  • Participation in training sessions is undertaken entirely at the owner's risk.
  • Owners remain responsible for their dog's behaviour and actions at all times.
  • Holton's Hounds accepts no liability for loss, injury, damage or illness suffered by any person, dog or property, except where caused by negligence or where liability cannot be excluded by law.
  • Clients are responsible for ensuring that any equipment used is safe, suitable and in good condition.

Training Outcomes

  • Every dog is an individual and training results cannot be guaranteed.
  • Holton's Hounds will provide professional guidance and support but accepts no responsibility for outcomes resulting from inconsistent implementation of training advice.

Photography & Video

  • Photographs and videos may be taken during training sessions for educational, promotional and marketing purposes, including use on social media, websites and printed materials.
  • If you do not wish to appear in photographs or videos, please notify us in writing by emailing hello@holtonshounds.co.uk prior to attending.
  • By attending our sessions, you consent to the use of images and video footage unless you have opted out in advance.

  • Client records are retained for seven years and then securely deleted.
  • You may request access to your personal information at any time.
  • You may withdraw consent for marketing communications and future use of photographs or videos by contacting hello@holtonshounds.co.uk.

Prohibited Breeds

  • Holton's Hounds reserves the right to refuse bookings from any dog prohibited under current UK legislation or where legal restrictions prevent participation in training activities.

By submitting a booking and making payment, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree
